Welcome to 2025

A new season

Opening from our President - Helen Clarke

The 2025 season is nearly here

Exciting changes are coming your way so keep your eyes on the website and social media as plans are finalised!

Senior Trials

Trials are not far away – dates are on the website, please note ALL Senior trials are at DIO this year (except Division Men 2nd trial).

To trial you MUST register. You will see that there has been an increase in our fees for this year. This is due to a number of factors, including increases from AHA to affiliation fees and rising turf hire costs.

As some of you are already aware, the club has run at a deficit for the past 2 years, which we cannot keep doing. To rectify this, we are implementing and exploring some different options.

Use of One Tree Hill College Turf

Trainings this year for Seniors will be spread across 2 venues, One Tree Hill College (OTHC) and AGS.

Youth teams will use OTHC as well as DIO.

Junior teams will also use OTHC as well as Kings Prep and St Kents.

Colin Maiden Park Development

Colin Maiden Park is underway and while we won’t see play on it this season, it looks promising for 2026.

This will provide opportunities for us in the future, which we are looking into, and we will keep the club informed as progress is made.

We need you!

We are a club of over 600 players - perhaps the largest in the country!

The club is run by approximately 20 people - all volunteers - giving their time for the benefit of all.

We are in need of people to help with the running of the Club - bringing fresh ideas and energy to help with organising and managing each of our divisions, helping with finances, social activities, fundraising, etc.

We are in particular need of a Club Captain for our Juniors.

Abbie is taking a well deserved break after dedicating many, many years of service to the club in numerous capacities from Secretary to Junior Club Captain.

We would like to acknowledge and thank Abbie for her time and effort, and look forward to seeing her enjoying her season as a player only this year. We have amazing co-ordinators for each grade but need someone to tie it all together.

In 2026, we will need a new Youth Club Captain as John has indicated he will step down at the end of this season.

These are busy but highly rewarding roles, and ideal for someone perhaps recently retired with children or grandchildren involved with the Club. Or discuss with a family member who may have the time, energy and passion to help us out.

When you register this year, please have a think as to whether you can help out our leadership team, and perhaps look to use 2025 as a learning experience to transition into one of the roles.

Best wishes to you all for the start of the season
