Summer Hockey Coordinators
We’re seeking two coordinators to organise and oversee the School Summer Hockey competition and the Open Summer Hockey competition.
Job Description
The Summer Hockey Coordinator is responsible for organising and overseeing all aspects of the summer hockey program. This role involves coordinating schedules, managing registrations, supervising team managers, and ensuring the smooth operation of the program that creates a positive and engaging experience for all involved.
Responsibilities
Program Planning
Develop and implement the summer hockey program, including game schedules, umpire allocation and turf bookings.
Co-ordinate with Club Committee, team managers, umpires and turf managers.
Ensuring proper equipment and resources are available.
Registration and Communication
Manage participant registration process, including collecting fees, waivers, and necessary documentation.
Communicate program details, updates, and important information to participants via email, phone, or online platforms.
Address participant inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
Evaluation and Reporting
Monitor program activities to ensure compliance with safety guidelines and protocols.
Maintain accurate program records, incident reports, and evaluations.
Collaborate with the Committee to implement suggested improvements and adjustments for future programs.
Qualifications
No previous experience required, but a knowledge of hockey rules is helpful.
Strong organisational and time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and but also collaborate with the Club Committee.
A breakdown on how the season works
Early August liaise with Committee dates and costs
Ensure turfs are booked
Email to all previous teams as soon as confirmation of dates, and also email the rest of the club
Post on social media and website to attract more teams
Monitor emails on a daily basis from finish of the winter season
Set up online payment system
Once payment is received, the team is confirmed - usually 16 teams per night (3 nights of Summer hockey)
Source umpires
Two weeks before start draw to be finalised
Umpire roster to be finalised
On going checking of emails
Retain score cards for umpires after each game

$25 per hour
Around 5 hours per week
10 weeks from September - November
Open Summer Hockey
$25 per hour
Around 5 hours per week
8 weeks from October - mid December
5 weeks from mid January - February
